-2.2% Quarterly change in headline CPI

Highlights

HEADLINE CPI

The headline CPI showed a decrease of 2.2 percent from March quarter 2025 to June quarter 2025.

However, the headline CPI showed an increase of 3.6 percent from June quarter 2024 to June quarter 2025.

Major contributors to the change in March Quarter 2025

The major contributors to the decrease in the June quarter 2025 are the Alcoholic Beverages, Tobacco, and Betel-Nut Group.

Alcoholic Beverages, Tobacco & Betel Nut Group

The Alcoholic Beverages Tobacco & Betel Nut Group decreased b 14.8 percent this quarter, mainly due to the decreases in Betel Nut & Mustard (26.5%) and Tobacco (-5.8%).

The decrease in the June quarter 2025 Headline CPI was slightly offset by increases in the Fruits & Vegetables (4.9%) in the Food & Non-Alcoholic Beverages Group, Medical Supplies (2.2%) in the Health Group, and Telephone Equipment (2.4%) in the Communication Group.
